We’ve all heard horror stories of travelers who have unknowingly consumed contaminated water and had to alter their trip plans. In an effort to reduce this risk, a new product, SteriPEN, has been developed.

The SteriPEN is a portable water purification system that effectively eliminates more than 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa that cause water-borne illness. It uses ultraviolet light to make water safe to drink – the same technology used by bottled water manufacturers & major U. S. & European cities’ water filtration plants.

The battery-powered travel version is about the size of a cell phone & will purify about 375 gallons over the life of the UV lamp.
