Our customizable Cambodia volunteer package offers unique experiences in four different locations. This trip offers a complete cultural immersion. You’ll have the opportunity to get to know the local people as you volunteer at an orphanage, farm or community. You will gain an understanding of the daily life of the local people after you are able to stand in the fields in Siem Reap and harvest rice plants, pick fruit, or build bridges and houses.

You have the chance to learn about traditional Cambodian crafts, including; silk weaving, and stone and wood carving. While at the Angkor Silk Farm, you will grow food for silk worms, breed worms, extract silk, and experience spinning, refinement, pattern creation and looming. At the Artisans D’angkor, you’ll see artisans training in traditional carving techniques.

And, you absolutely can’t miss Cambodia’s amazing sights! After climbing natural hills to the Bakheng Temple, you’ll be rewarded with the amazing views of Angkor Wat. Journey through jungles to Ta Prohm and enjoy a ride on a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap.

Vietnam

Our new Vietnam volunteer package will take you to 11 different destinations and can be customized to fit your schedule & budget.

This package gives participants the opportunity to experience Vietnamese life first-hand – farming, cooking and creating traditional crafts side-by-side with the local people. You will learn about the SOS Children’s Village in Danang by joining in the daily activities such as cleaning, teaching, and playing with the children. After this, learn how to garden Vietnamese style in Tra Que. After slicing the “grass” in the field and learning how to weave a mat in the Mekong Delta, you can build a small monkey bridge with the local people. Continuing along your journey, learn to make hand-made toys, teach songs in English, and learn Vietnamese songs at the Hoi An Orphanage.

This program is particularly special because you will have the opportunity to learn & practice traditional Vietnamese crafts. Not only will you learn how to make mats & toys, you’ll also get to make your very own Hoi An-style lantern by constructing the bamboo frame and applying silk around the lantern. Cruising on Thu Bon River, visit the Thanh Ha pottery village. Stop by a small pottery workshop to create your own handmade terracotta.

Don’t worry. You won’t miss out on the sights! You’ll see Hanoi, arguably Asia's most charming capital city with its elegant French villas and colonial-era buildings. Visit the well-preserved communal houses, pagodas and places of worship in Hoi An, a UNESCO Heritage Site. A walking tour around Saigon’s colonial quarter will showcase the eclectic mix of old and new created by the city’s many occupiers.

The unique combination of volunteer work, home stays, traditional crafts & sightseeing will help you truly understand the Vietnamese culture. To view the complete itinerary, see our Vietnam Community Work Project.
