It's a New BAG With a Lot of Twists and Fees

It's the night before a domestic trip flight and you will have to check a bag to carry everything. Better remember to pay the $15 online or it will cost you $20 at the airport to do so. You are flying international, and you need two bags. Get ready to pay $50 for the second bag unless you have an elevated frequent flyer status with that airline. Delta expects to earn $100 million alone from fees for the first checked domestic bag.
Taking a legal rolling bag on board? Better board quick before fellow passengers trying to avoid fees try to bring suitcases large enough for around the world trips on-board! Now United has a new twist! The Premier Baggage program costs $249 a year and covers fees on a year’s worth of checked bags. It enables the purchaser and up to eight companions traveling under the same confirmation number to check up to two standard bags each on a flight, without fees.
And you think you've already been "nickel and dimed" (That's $5 & $10) the "annual fee concept" is expected to breed other programs for other services. Bank on continuing to pay with the only possible relief having an elite elevated status with your predominant carrier frequent flyer program. The airlines are looking for new ways to "bag income".
