Tips To Keep Weight Down

Don’t bring heavy electric items: hairdryers, curling irons, irons, etc. Instead, pack wrinkle-free clothes and get a wash & go haircut. It’ll make your life easier, your bags lighter, and most importantly leave more room for souvenirs!

  Take toiletries in travel-sized bottles.

Don’t bring more than three pairs of shoes, two pairs of walking shoes and one that’s a little dressier. If you stick to one color scheme when deciding what clothes to bring, that’s all you’ll need.

Only bring the amount of medication you’ll need for the time you’ll be gone. Large pill bottles take up a lot of room and can be very heavy.

Pack a clothesline and a small amount of laundry detergent to cut down on clothes.

Packing Tips

Don’t bring more than you need!

Always put an extra set of clothes, your toothbrush, and prescriptions in your carry on, in case your luggage ends up at some other destination.

Make sure to bring plenty of film, as it is very expensive overseas.

Lay clothes as flat as possible, and fill in all space from the bottom up.

Pack an extra fold-up bag for souvenirs.

Bring a first aid kit with aspirin, Imodium, Band-aids, cold medicine, etc.

Additional Travel Tips

Check your tickets and re-confirm your flights before you go, to be sure your itinerary hasn’t changed.

Pay all bills that will be due during or shortly after your trip before you leave.

Familiarize yourself with your destination before you get there (cultural differences, local laws, etc.).

If you’re bringing traveler’s checks, make copies of them before you go and keep them separate from the actual checks. Make sure you have the number to report them missing, the date and location of their purchase, the denomination, and the serial numbers.

Bring a copy of any prescriptions you’re taking in case you need to get them refilled while you’re away.

Bring a copy of your glasses/contact prescription in case they’re broken or lost.

Bring anti-bacterial gel/lotion and Kleenex. You never know what type of bathroom you’ll end up in.

Always keep an open mind about other cultures and you’ll never be disappointed.
