Original Article: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Coverage Update

“The U.S. Government has restricted travel to and from European countries for 30 days as the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread. The measure will go into effect on midnight Friday, March 13, 2020. Unfortunately, governmental travel warnings, restrictions or bans are not eligible reasons for trip cancellation or trip interruption coverage in Travelex policies due to the plan exclusion for any loss resulting in whole or in part from any government regulation or prohibition.

For customers whose travel plans are impacted by the government travel warnings and restrictions, Travelex may allow the travel adviser or traveler to apply the policy to new or rescheduled trip at a later date. Please contact Travelex Customer Solutions at 800.228.9792 or customersolutions@travelexinsurance.com for further details on this option.

If a traveler purchased Cancel For Any Reason coverage and met all the purchase requirements under the terms of the policy they may be eligible for a percent of the covered trip cost, provided the trip was cancelled no less than 48 hours prior to the departure date.
