Itinerary
Day 1: USA
Departure from USA, overnight flight. (Flights not included. Contact us for special airfares.)
Day 2: Tel Aviv
Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for dinner & overnight at Metropolitan hotel or similar.
Day 3: Jaffa, Caesarea, Megiddo, Cana
Start your day with a visit to Jaffa & pass the home of Simon the Tanner. Marvel at the views from the hilltop before driving along the coastal road to Caesarea, built by King Herod & once the seat of the Roman rule. Afterward, continue on to Megiddo, the site of Armageddon. After exploring the ancient ruins, drive to the Sea of Galilee where you’ll stop in Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle of turning water into wine. Check in to the Leonardo hotel in Tiberias or similar.
Day 4: Capernaum, Tabgha, Caesarea Philippi
Today, visit biblical sites around the Sea of Galilee. Start at Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry in the Galilee. Afterward, visit Tabgha, the site of Jesus’ miracle of the fishes & loaves. See the Church of the Multiplication & its beautiful mosaic floor before stopping by the Church of the Primacy of St. Peter. Later on, visit the Mt. of the Beatitudes where Jesus delivered His Sermon on the Mount. Ascend the Golan Heights for a panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon & the rugged Golan plateau. Afterward, visit Banias (Caesarea Philippi) where Simon identified Jesus as the Messiah. Finish your day with a visit to the Yardenit Baptismal Site. Overnight at Leonardo hotel in Tiberias or similar.
Day 5: Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Beit Alpha, Jordan Valley
Start your day with a relaxing boat ride on the calm waters of the Sea of Galilee. Afterward, travel through the Galilee to Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home. During your visit, you’ll see Mary’s Well & Joseph’s Church. Make your way to the ancient synagogue of Beit Alpha & view one of the most well-preserved mosaics in Israel. Drive through the Jordan Valley, passing Jericho, before ascending through the Judaean Mountains to Jerusalem. Overnight at Grand Court hotel in Jerusalem or similar.
Day 6: Masada, Qumran Caves, The Dead Sea
Today, visit the lowest place on Earth – the Dead Sea. Ascend via cable car to the legendary mountaintop plateau of Masada where you’ll visit the excavations of King Herod’s palace, the synagogue, the bathhouse & more. Learn how it later served as the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. Afterward, visit the Qumran caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947. Nearly 1,300 feet below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface. Bring your swimsuit. If weather permits, you can float on the mineral-rich water. Overnight at Grand Court hotel in Jerusalem or similar.
Day 7: Jerusalem
Start the day with a visit to the Israel Museum where you’ll see the Shrine of the Book which displays the Dead Sea Scrolls. Afterward, stop by Ein Karem, the picturesque village where John the Baptist was born. Later on, visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial & museum. Finish your day with a stop at the little town of Bethlehem, where you’ll see the Church of the Nativity & Manger Square. Overnight at Grand Court hotel in Jerusalem or similar.
Day 8: Jerusalem
This morning, enter the Old City of Jerusalem where you’ll see the Western Wall – the holiest place in the world in Judaism. You’ll also see the Temple Mount, the actual site of the Second Temple. Walk the Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre – the traditional site of Crucifixion & the Tomb of the Resurrection. Continue on to Mt. Zion where you’ll see the Upper Room (traditional site of the Last Supper) & King David’s Tomb. Next, see the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus spent his last free night. Finish the day with a beautiful view of Jerusalem from atop the Mt. of Olives. Overnight at Grand Court hotel in Jerusalem or similar.
Day 9: Jerusalem – Tel Aviv – USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
