Day 1: Tel Aviv
Arrive at the airport in Tel Aviv, & transfer to the hotel. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in the city.
Day 2: Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Megiddo – Haifa – Acre
Take a walk along the sandy coast of Caesarea this morning, & admire its ancient aqueduct. Other highlights of today’s first stop include Caesarea’s ancient Roman theatre. Visit Megiddo, the believed site of Armageddon. See the gardens in Haifa, & visit the harbor in Acre. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in the Galilee region.
Day 3: Tiberias – Capernaum – Tabgha – Mount of Beatitudes – Caesarea Philippi
After breakfast, head to Capernaum by sailing the Sea of Galilee. See the town’s 2nd-century Synagogue during your visit. Next, feel inspired as you tour the site where the multiplication of the loaves & the fish took place, as depicted in the New Testament. Visit the Church of Multiplication, & see the renowned mosaics that date back to the 4th century. Before returning to the hotel, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive through the Golan Heights region & visits to the Mount of Beatitudes & Caesarea Philippi.
Day 4: Nazareth – Yardenit – Beit She’an – Jerusalem
See Mary’s Well, the Church of the Annunciation, & St. Joseph’s Church in the town believed to be where Jesus grew up, the town of Nazareth. Next, head to the shores of the Jordan River, & visit the Yardenit baptismal site. Enjoy a guided tour of the Beit She’an archaeological site on your way to Jerusalem.
Day 5: Jerusalem
Walk in the footsteps of Jesus & his disciples today as you stand on Mount Zion & in the Last Supper Room. Visit the Garden Tomb, the Mount of Olives, & King David’s Tomb. Walk down the path where Jesus carried his cross before he was crucified. Other highlights of today’s tour include the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, the Cardo, the bazaar, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, & the Church of All Nations.
Day 6: Jerusalem – Bethlehem – Jerusalem
Enjoy another guided tour of Jerusalem this morning. See the Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem. Take a stroll through the neighborhood reputed to be John the Baptist’s hometown, Ein Karem. Here you’ll see Mary’s spring & the Church of the Visitation. Take a trip to Bethlehem afterward, & visit the Church of the Nativity. Head back to Jerusalem for another overnight stay.
Day 7: Jerusalem – Qumran – Masada – Dead Sea – Jerusalem
Learn about the finding of the Dead Sea Scrolls during a visit to the historic site of Qumran. Next, admire King Herod the Great’s ancient fortress, situated atop a massive rock in the Judean Desert. This experience is complete with a cable car ride up to the top & back to the desert floor. Experience a float in the Dead Sea later today (time & weather permitting). Tonight, enjoy one more evening in Jerusalem.
Day 8: Jerusalem – Timna – Eilat
See King Solomon’s pillars this morning during your visit to Timna Valley. Afterward, travel to Eilat, & admire the marine wildlife at the city’s famous aquarium.
Day 9: Eilat – Petra – Eliat
Today will be spent at your leisure in Eilat or discovering some of the world’s most fascinating archaeological structures. If you decide to visit Petra today, you’ll head to cross the border into Jordan after breakfast. When you arrive at the Siq, the entryway to Petra, you’ll be sure to feel the anticipation of what you are about to see. The rock-carved structures situated on the other end of this entryway are quite incredible. Highlights include the Treasury, the Roman theatre, & the Palace of Pharaoh’s daughter. Enjoy lunch after the tour. On the way back to Eilat, head through the city of Aqaba.
Day 10: Eilat – Sde Boker – Hatzerim – Tel Aviv
See the Ramon Crater, & visit the burial site of Israel’s first Prime Minister, David Ben-Gurion. Next you’ll enjoy the cultural experience of Bedouin hospitality, & ride camels in the desert. Take a tour of the Israeli Air Force Museum in Hatzerim on your way back to Tel Aviv.
Day 11: Tel Aviv – USA
Transfer to the airport, & board return flight home.
