Day 1: Tel Aviv
Arrive at the airport, & transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Tel Aviv – Latrun – Tel Aviv
After breakfast, visit Tel Aviv’s Independence Hall. Next, head outside the city to Latrun. Explore Mini Israel, which features miniature models of historic sites including the Western Wall. Take a tour of The Armored Corps Memorial Site & Museum, where you’ll see more than one hundred military vehicles. Before returning to Tel Aviv, visit the Ayalon Institute. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in Tel Aviv.
Day 3: Tel Aviv – Jaffa – Tel Aviv
This morning’s guided tour includes a visit to Rabin Square, where in 1995 Israel’s leader was assassinated. You’ll also see the Holocaust memorial while visiting the square. Explore The Museum of the Jewish People. Head to Jaffa afterward. Visit the Artist’s Quarter, & see the city’s ancient ruins. Enjoy time to shop for local handicrafts while exploring some of the area’s celebrated neighborhoods. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4: Tel Aviv
Spend the day at leisure. There are many activities to choose from, including spending the day on the beach & shopping.
Day 5: Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Haifa – Acre – Rosh Hanikra
Travel to Caesarea this morning to see the ancient aqueduct & Roman theatre. Head to Mount Carmel for a scenic photo opportunity afterward. Learn about the ship Af-Al-Pi-Chen & Israel’s immigration history during a visit to the Clandestine Immigration & Naval Museum. Explore the market in Acre, & enjoy a stroll by the city’s old harbor. End the day in Rosh Hanikra. Upon arrival, hop on a cable car, & ride down to the limestone caves for a unique exploration experience.
Day 6: Rosh Hanikra – Safed – Golan Heights
Visit the heartland of Kabbalah this morning, the city of Safed. Visit the 15th-century Abuhav Synagogue, & see the Crusader ruins. Other highlights include the Artists Quarter. Afterward, take a 4 x 4 tour to the Golan Heights region. Along the way you’ll see the spring of Banias, visit what once was a Syrian military camp, & stand on the hill where the Battle of Tel Hai took place. This evening, enjoy a rich cultural experience as you dine with a member of the local Kibbutz community, & learn about their day-to-day life.
Day 7: Golan Heights – Tiberias – Beit She’an – Beth Alpha – Gan HaShlosha – Jerusalem
See the tomb of 12th-century Jewish Rabbi Maimonides in Tiberias. Explore the ruins of the Beit She’an archaeological site, & admire the mosaics inside the Beth Alpha synagogue. Swim in the natural waters of the beautiful Gan HaShlosha National Park. Afterward, make your way to the city of Jerusalem. Receive a blessing at Mount Scopus upon arriving.
Day 8: Jerusalem
Discover Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter this morning, where you’ll visit the Sephardic synagogues. Walk through the Western Wall Tunnels, visit the museum at the Tower of David, & enjoy shopping at the bazaar. Other highlights of the Old City tour include Mount Zion, King David’s tomb, the Jaffa Gate, & the Cardo.
Day 9: Jerusalem
Visit the Western Wall this morning. Afterward, learn about the culture of Haredi Judaism as you visit the Mea Shearim community. Or, remain at the Western Wall to celebrate your kin’s bar/bat mitzvah ceremony (optional). See the Dead Sea Scrolls inside the Israel Museum, & remember the victims of the Holocaust as you visit the memorial Yad Vashem. Other highlights of today’s tour include Ammunition Hill & the Knesset.
Day 10: Jerusalem – Qumran – Masada – Jerusalem
Travel to Qumran, historic site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Then you will ascend up to Masada by cable car. Here you will see ancient ruins built by King Herod the Great. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the breathtaking views of the surrounding Judean Desert. Relax at an Israeli spa before you head back to Jerusalem. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 11: Jerusalem
Spend the day at leisure in Jerusalem.
Day 12: Jerusalem – Tel Aviv – USA
Transfer to the airport in Tel Aviv, & board return flight home.
