Overview

This tour invites you to explore ancient archaeological sites across Israel, & visit the famous city of Petra in Jordan. You’ll also stand on top of the great Masada, & capture the incredible views of the Judean Desert. Relax as you float in the Dead Sea, & discover a city rich in culture as you explore the Old & New Jerusalem. 

Tours begin on Sundays & are available to both individuals & groups. 

Highlights

  • Petra – Visit the famous archaeological site in Jordan. Climb more than 800 steps to its Monastery. Walk through a massive gorge.
  • Dead Sea – Float in this unique, salty body of water.
  • Jerusalem – Visit the Temple Mount.
  • Masada – Take a cable car up to the top of this rock to see the ancient fortress built by Herod the Great.
  • Bethlehem – Visit the Church of the Nativity.
  • Caesarea – See the ancient Roman Theatre.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Tel Aviv

Arrive at the airport, & transfer to the hotel. 

Day 2: Tel Aviv – Be'er Sheva – Masada – Dead Sea – Jerusalem

Visit the archaeological site at Be’er Sheva this morning. Then head to the incredible Masada. You’ll ride in a cable car up to the top of this rock, where you will explore the ancient fortress of Herod the Great. This afternoon, enjoy floating in the Dead Sea. Travel to Jerusalem for dinner & an overnight stay. 

Day 3: Jerusalem

Spend the day visiting historic sites across the city of Jerusalem. You’ll admire the city from Mount Scopus to start the day off. Next, visit the Israel Museum to see the Dead Sea Scrolls. Remember the victims of the Holocaust today as you visit the Yad Vashem memorial. You’ll also take a walk through the neighborhood believed to be where John the Baptist was born, Ein Karem, & the Garden of Gethsemane. Other highlights include a visit to the Church of All Nations, & the Hadassah Medical Center Synagogue, where you’ll admire the Chagall stained glass windows. 

Day 4: Jerusalem – Bethlehem – Jerusalem

This morning, continue exploring the city of Jerusalem. Head on up to Mount Zion to see King David’s tomb & the room where Jesus & his disciples had the Last Supper. Head to the Old City to see the Temple Mount & the Western Wall. Visit the Jewish Quarter, take a walk down Via Dolorosa, & see the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. After lunch, travel to Bethlehem to see the site believed to be where Jesus was born, in the Church of the Nativity. Return to Jerusalem for dinner & an overnight stay. 

Day 5: Jerusalem – Beit She'an – Tiberias – Capernaum

Head into the Jordan River Valley this morning. Enjoy exploring the Beit She’an ruins. You will see the Roman baths & the theatre, amongst other excavated structures. Leave for Tiberias, where you will find more ancient Roman ruins. Enjoy a coffee or a cup of tea at a local café before heading back on the road. You’ll travel to Capernaum, for your third & last archaeological site visit of the day. The highlight of Capernaum is its ancient Synagogue. Spend the evening in the Golan Heights region. 

Day 6: Golan Heights – Safed – Nazareth

Discover the Golan Heights area this morning. You will visit Druze villages & the Banias spring, & see fortifications built by Syrians. Enjoy a brief tour in Safed on your way to Nazareth. You will enjoy a guided tour of the city of Nazareth, which includes visits to the Church of the Annunciation & Mary’s Well. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in Nazareth. 

Day 7: Nazareth – Acre – Haifa – Caesarea – Tel Aviv – Eilat

Discover the medieval architecture of Acre this morning. Afterward, travel to Haifa to visit Mount Carmel & the city’s beautiful gardens. See the Roman Theater at the archaeological site in ancient Caesarea. Return to Tel Aviv, & board domestic flight to Eilat. 

Day 8: Eilat – Petra – Valley of Moses – Aqaba – Eilat

In the morning, you will cross the Israeli-Jordanian border to visit the famous, ancient city of Petra. Upon arrival to Petra, you will head through a massive gorge. Once you have passed through the gorge you can take the 800 plus steps to the city’s Monastery. You’ll also see the Treasury, which you may recognize from the Hollywood picture “Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade.” After visiting Petra, head to the Valley of Moses for lunch. Before heading back to Eilat, visit the Archaeological Museum in Aqaba. 

Day 9: Eilat – Tel Aviv – USA

Return to Tel Aviv by plane, & board connecting flight home.
