Australia is home to a  variety of endemic  wildlife, diverse natural landscapes & unique culture. This 11-day  adventure will immerse you in one of the world’s most biodiverse countries – from its outback to vast coastlines & lush rainforests.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Sydney

Upon arrival in Sydney, meet your guide & transfer to your accommodation. 

Day 2: Sydney

Enjoy an introduction to Australia with a visit to the Australian Museum. The museum showcases the country’s cultural & natural history, featuring collections of zoology, mineralogy, paleontology & anthropology. 

Day 3: Sydney

This morning, make your way to the Blue Mountain National Park to spot colorful birds & unique animals in this awe-inspiring mix of rainforest, canyons, forest & grasslands. You may see koala, kangaroos, kookaburra, Tasmanian devils & even a 12-foot-long crocodile! 

Later, visit the famous Three Sisters rock formation – one of the most iconic landmarks in Australia. Listen to aboriginal legends while taking in the spectacular views of the Jamison Valley. Afterward, your eco-accredited guide will take you on a cliff face walk through the rainforest. At the top, relax & admire the views with coffee or ice cream.

Day 4: Sydney

Depart for the Tobruk Sheep Station to enjoy an authentic Australian outback experience. Upon arrival, a stockman will greet you on horseback & escort you to Drovers Camp for Billy tea & damper, a traditional refreshment. Learn about the station & lives of Aussie outback workers. 

Watch sheepdogs-in-training master their skills as they practice herding Indian Runner Ducks. Next, watch a live sheep muster where stockmen on horseback lead working dogs to far away paddocks to bring sheep back to the guests & the yards. Learn about the history of sheep in Australia & the wool production process.
Finally, watch the stockmen show off the various whip cracks used in the mustering process. Learn about aboriginal weapons, including the bull roarer & 
boomerangs. Then, try your hand at one under the watchful eye of experts.

Day 5: Sydney - Cairns

Check out of your hotel & transfer to the Sydney 
airport to fly to Cairns. Upon arrival, meet your guide & check in to your hotel. 

Day 6: Cairns

Embark on an adventure to the Great Barrier Reef, where you’ll learn snorkeling techniques from the experienced staff. The divemasters will provide in-depth briefings on safety procedures & site orientation so you can get the most out of this incredible experience. No experience necessary!

Optional activity: Scuba lessons.

Day 7: Cairns

Begin with a scenic train ride to the mountain village of Kuranda. Along the way, you’ll pass lush rainforest & roaring waterfalls. Enjoy a rainforestation tour to see an array of flora & fauna including more than 40 different species of exotic fruit trees! Then, take in the spectacular forest views via cable car. 

Day 8: Cape Tribulation

This morning, depart for Cape Tribulation, stopping along the way at a rainforest habitat in Port Douglas. Stroll along the meandering walkway to experience the varied microenvironments.
Cape Tribulation is located in the heart of the Daintree National Park World Heritage Area which contains one of the oldest, continually surviving tropical rainforests in the world. Estimated to be more than 100 million years old, the Wet Tropics area is home to around 50% of Australia’s plant & animal species, many of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Marvel at the picturesque views at landmarks such as Mossman Gorge & Alexandra Lookout. 

Enjoy lunch on Cape Tribulation Beach before embarking on a Daintree River cruise through the saltwater mangrove & rainforest habitat. On your return journey, stop at Rex Lookout for a stunning view across the Coral Sea & coastal landscape, including the Great Barrier Reef. 

Day 9: Cape Tribulation

Today, enjoy traditional aboriginal fishing activities – mud crabbing & spear fishing! Venture to Cooya Beach where experts will explain traditional spear throwing as it is still practiced today. Follow along, spear in hand & learn how to catch as the locals do. 

Afterward, learn about Kuku Yalanji artifacts & listen to stories from this area. You’ll also watch how today’s catch is prepared.

Day 10: Cairns

Transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
