Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg – Windhoek

Depart Johannesburg for Windhoek. Transfer to the hotel upon arrival. 

Day 2: Windhoek – Kalahari Desert

Venture out of Namibia’s capital city, along the lush Auob River Valley, to discover today’s exciting destination, the Kalahari Desert.  From the radiant, red sand that covers the desert’s floor, to the roaming wildlife that calls this dry savannah home, the Kalahari is one of Africa’s most unique places to visit. 

Day 3: Kalahari Desert – Fish River Canyon

Take a walk through the maze of boulders at Giant’s Playground. Explore Quiver Tree Forest, a fascinating display of mushroom-shaped aloe trees, some of which have aged three hundred years. Afterward, transfer to the hotel, located near Fish River Canyon. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 4: Fish River Canyon – Succulent Karoo

Discover the stunning beauty of the world’s second largest canyon, Fish River Canyon. Visit the Succulent Karoo, home to thousands of species of succulent plants, such as the water retaining aloe plant. 

Day 5: Fish River Canyon – Kolmanskop – Luderitz

See the abandoned houses in Kolmanskop, a former mining town in the Namib Desert, currently referred to as a ghost town. Explore Luderitz, a harbor town situated on Namibia’s south-west coast. The town is home to a variety of wildlife, including ostriches & penguins. Other highlights of today’s adventure include a visit to Diaz Point & spotting the roaming wild horses of the Namib Desert.

Day 6: Fish River Canyon – Namib Desert

This morning, set off on a fascinating journey through the world’s most ancient & driest desert, the Namib. Our route heads through the pre-Namib & continues deep into the Southern Namib, a secluded haven consisting of magnificent, colorful dunes. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure or choose from available activities.    

Day 7: Namib Desert

Visit the famous Sossusvlei, the Southern Namib’s diamond in the ruff. This salt & clay pan, lying flat across the desert floor, is bordered by some of the world’s highest sand dunes. Enjoy walking amongst these glistening, red towers of sand, some of which surpass 300 meters high.  Afterward, travel to Sesriem Canyon to admire the unique rock formations. 

Day 8: Namib Desert – Swakopmund

Head towards the coast, along the Kuiseb Moon Valley. See the graceful African Flamingos as they walk through the shallow lagoon of Walvis Bay. Afterward, travel to the coastal resort town of Swakopmund, & enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 9: Swakopmund

Relax on the beach, experience the thrills of sand boarding on the dunes, take a tour through the desert, or choose from many other activities this exciting vacation spot has to offer.

Day 10: Swakopmund – Windhoek

Leave for Windhoek in the morning. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. 

Day 11: Windhoek – Johannesburg

Transfer to the airport, & board return flight to Johannesburg.
