Spice-up your already fabulous getaway with a day-tour in Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark! Among the many sights to see, you can visit the statue of the Little Mermaid, walk the Langelinie promenade, ride the roller coasters at Tivoli or just enjoy some of the city’s beautiful architecture. Time is always well spent in Copenhagen.
One of your first stops of the tour is the Little Mermaid. The statue, which sits alongside the water at the Langelinie promenade, is modeled from the fairy tale & even depicted in the famous Disney movie. Adrenaline-seekers may want to spend time at Tivoli, an amusement park & pleasure garden. Tivoli is the world’s second oldest amusement park & is host to a number of roller coasters, rides & games. Though Tivoli can offer plenty of thrills, it’s also a good place to dine & relax as you enjoy the scenery of the beautifully landscaped grounds & gardens. A number of historic & exquisitely designed churches also call Copenhagen home. See some of Copenhagen’s most well known like Church of our Lady, Frederik’s Church & Church of our Savior.
If you have the time, live like royalty as you spend a day in Hillerød, Denmark at the Frederiksborg Castle. The castle, which was formerly the royal resident to King Christian IV, is Scandinavia’s largest Renaissance palace. It is spread across three islands & is connected by a gorgeous Baroque garden. You can even explore inside, as the castle is now a Museum of Natural History. If you want to stay closer to the capital, take a day to tour the Amalienborg Palace, the winter home of the Danish family. You may also choose to take to water to get a different vantage point of the city. Cruise the canal by sailboat while experiencing Nyhavn, the Copenhagen waterfront district. Whether you spend a day or a week, Copenhagen has plenty to offer.
