Day 1: Tel Aviv
Flight to Tel Aviv
Day 2: Tel Aviv, Tiberias
Visit the archeological site in Caesarea, Elijah's cave on Mount Carmel, & the Church of the First Miracle in Cana. Then, head to Nazareth to see the Church of Gabriel & St. Joseph's Church. We'll stop at Harod Spring (the place where Judge Gideon selected his warriors).
Day 3: Tiberias, Sea of Galilee Area
Visit the Mount of Beatitudes & Zippori, with its impressive excavations of Roman, Byzantine & Jewish periods. In Safed, we'll visit synagogues & the Biblical Museum. Next, we'll visit Bet She'an before taking a boat across the Sea of Galilee to Tiberias. In the afternoon, see an ancient boat discovered in the Sea of Galilee (believed to belong to Jesus' times). Our last stop will be Yardenit, Jesus' baptismal place in the Jordan River.
Day 4: Tiberias, Masada & The Dead Sea
Visit Almong en route to the Wilderness Tabernacle, & continue on to the Ein Gedi Oasis where we'll see a waterfall in the desert! Short & long walking tours are available to see Israel's largest green house for tropical plants, many animals, & two springs that have formed beautiful canyons. Later, head to the Qumran Caves (where the Dead Sea scrolls were found). Take a cable car ride to the fortress of Masada, where Jewish refugees held off the Roman army for years!
Day 5: Jerusalem
Visit the Mount of Olives, Mount Scopus, Pater Noster Church, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations (Basilica of the Agony), & Bethphage, where Jesus began his triumphal entry into Jerusalem the Sunday before his crucifixion. Also, see the Chagall windows at the Hadassa Medical Center, telling the story of the twelve tribes. Later, we'll visit Lazareth's Tomb, Mahane Yuda market, & the Jewish Market.
Day 6: Jerusalem
Visit the Upper Room, David's Tomb at Mount Zion, the Jewish Quarter, & the Temple of Institute City of David, including Gihon Spring, Hezekiahu Tunnel & the Pool of Silaam. Stop at the Western Wall & take a walking tour of Ben Yahuda Street.
Day 7: Jerusalem
Travel to Beit Shemish & the Valley of Ella. You'll see the Holy Land Model Museum, the Menorah Monument, & the Knesset (Israeli Parliament). See the Biblical Gardens & replicas of life during Biblical times. From there, visit St. Anne's Church (including the pool of Bethesda), & the Chapels of Condemnation & Flagellation. These Franciscan chapels stand partially over the Lithostrotos, where Jesus was condemned to death. We'll see Gordon's Calvary which is venerated by many as the Tomb of Christ. Communion will be held at the Garden Tomb.
Day 8: Tel Aviv
