Overview

Take a journey through a nation filled with historic sites, traditional communities, & revered treasures of the Jewish people. Visit the pilgrimage site of Maimonides, & tour the heartland of Kabbalah. During this unique experience, you’ll also explore the limestone caves of Rosh Hanikra, relax on Tel Aviv’s sandy coast, float in the Dead Sea, & more. 

This 10-day tour is offered every Friday.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Tel Aviv

Arrive at the airport, & transfer to the hotel. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in the city.

Day 2: Tel Aviv

Spend the day at leisure. You may choose to travel to the Dead Sea for a relaxing float, or enjoy a day at the beach. 

Day 3: Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Haifa – Acre – Rosh Hanikra

Head to Caesarea this morning, where you’ll see its ancient ruins. Highlights include the aqueduct & the Roman theatre. Next, travel to Haifa, & stand upon Mount Carmel. Enjoy scenic views of its surrounding landscapes. Learn about the ship Af-Al-Pi-Chen & Israel’s immigration history during a visit to the Clandestine Immigration & Naval Museum. Today’s journey continues as you head to Acre, where you’ll explore its market & enjoy a stroll by its old harbor. End the day in Rosh Hanikra. Upon arrival, hop on a cable car, & ride down into the limestone caves for a unique exploration experience. 

Day 4: Rosh Hanikra – Safed – Golan Heights

Visit the heartland of Kabbalah this morning, the city of Safed. You’ll explore the Artists Quarter, visit the 15th-century Abuhav Synagogue, see the Crusader ruins, & admire other historic sites. Afterward, take a 4 x 4 tour to the Golan Heights region. Along the way you’ll see the spring of Banias, visit what once was a Syrian military camp, & stand on the hill where the Battle of Tel Hai took place. This evening, enjoy a rich cultural experience as you dine with a member of the local Kibbutz community, & learn about their day-to-day life. 

Day 5: Golan Heights – Tiberias – Beit She’an – Beth Alpha – Gan HaShlosha – Jerusalem

Visit the tomb of 12th-century Jewish Rabbi Maimonides in Tiberias this morning. Explore the ruins of the Beit She’an archaeological site, & admire the mosaics inside the Beth Alpha synagogue. Enjoy time to swim in the natural waters of the beautiful Gan HaShlosha National Park. Afterward, make your way to the city of Jerusalem. Upon arrival, you will receive a blessing at Mount Scopus. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in the city. 

Day 6: Jerusalem

Today you’ll take a guided tour of the Old City. Head to the Jewish Quarter, where you’ll visit the Sephardic synagogues. Walk through the Western Wall Tunnels, visit the museum at the Tower of David, & enjoy shopping at the bazaar. Other highlights include Mount Zion, King David’s tomb, the Jaffa Gate, & the Cardo. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant this evening. 

Day 7: Jerusalem

Visit the Western Wall this morning. Afterward, learn about the culture of Haredi Judaism as you visit the Mea Shearim community. Or, remain at the Western Wall to celebrate your kin’s bar/bat mitzvah ceremony (optional). See the Dead Sea Scrolls inside the Israel Museum, & remember the victims of the Holocaust as you visit the memorial Yad Vashem. Other sightseeing highlights today include Ammunition Hill & the Knesset.

Day 8: Jerusalem – Qumran – Masada – Jerusalem

Travel to Qumran, historic site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Then you will ascend up to Masada by cable car. Here you will find ancient ruins built by King Herod the Great, & enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Judean Desert. Enjoy lunch & time of relaxation at an Israeli spa before heading back to the city. 

Day 9: Jerusalem

Spend the day at leisure. Enjoy a farewell dinner this evening. 

Day 10: Jerusalem – Tel Aviv – USA

Transfer to the airport in Tel Aviv, & board return flight home.
