Get your cameras ready, pack your bags, & head into the wild Tanzanian bush. This exciting photography tour features several game drives where you’ll get the opportunity to capture wonders of nature on film. You may even have an opportunity to photograph the Great Migration of wildebeests plunging through the crocodile waters of the Grumeti River. 


  • Ngorongoro Crater – Home to populations of many different mammal & bird species. Enjoy lunch in the bush by the hippo watering hole.
  • Grumeti River – During the Great Migration wildebeests plunge through this crocodile-inhabited river.
  • Lake Manyara National Park – Native wildlife includes dik-diks, leopards, & blue monkeys.
  • Lake Natron – Well-known for its sometimes overwhelming population of flamingos.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha

Arrive at the airport, & transfer to your accommodation.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara – Mto wa Mbu

Head to Lake Manyara National Park for a safari adventure. The park features a diverse variety of wildlife, including dik-diks, leopards, & blue monkeys. Lunch will be held in the bush during your safari. After the game drive, head to the village of Mto wa Mbu. You may choose to find traditional eats at the village market or gather around the fire for this evening’s meal. You’ll also take a tour that features visits to local artisans workshops. 

Day 3: Mto wa Mbu – Lake Natron

The trip to Lake Natron is nothing less than interesting. Capture images of Maasai natives with their livestock & incredible scenery of the outer edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival at your accommodation in the area, enjoy lunch. Head down to the edge of the water afterward. At times, visitors will find an overwhelming population of flamingos surrounding & in the beautiful Lake Natron. Enjoy time to take pictures, then follow your guide along the Engaresero River. The hike takes you to the waterfalls & a relaxing, natural water pool where you’ll enjoy time for swimming. Return to your accommodation for dinner around the fire. 

Day 4: Lake Natron – Serengeti

Learn about the Songo tribe on your way to the Serengeti this morning. This several hour drive will also make for another great photo opportunity, as the tribesmen will be wearing their traditional dress. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, enjoy a safari game drive. The Serengeti is full of wildlife & is known worldwide as an area where the annual Great Migration takes place. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay at your nearby accommodation. 

Day 5: Serengeti

After breakfast, you can set off for a safari in the northern part of the Serengeti. Or, you can capture images of the migrating herds in the western region of the Serengeti. This afternoon, your guide will head closer to the annual herd of migrating wildebeests. Return to your accommodation for dinner around the fire. 

Day 6: Serengeti

Today features a very exciting sightseeing & photo opportunity. During your full-day safari game drive, you’ll approach the Grumeti River, where you might see the Great Migration of wildebeests plunging through the crocodile-inhabited river.

Day 7: Serengeti

Spend another full day roaming the Serengeti, & capturing its spectacular wildlife on film. 

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This morning’s game drive will take place in western or central Serengeti. Enjoy a break for lunch in the bush, & continue to observe the native wildlife until later in the afternoon. Later you’ll head through the Ngorongoro Conversation Area, & watch the sun set over the Ngorongoro Crater. 

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater

Head into the Crater after breakfast this morning. You’ll enjoy observing a variety of wildlife, including flamingos, zebras, lions, & hyenas. Take a break midday for lunch, which you’ll enjoy by the hippos watering hole! 

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

If time allows, enjoy another full-day safari adventure inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Either way, you will still enjoy one last visit to this amazing wildlife sanctuary. Later today, return to Arusha for dinner & an overnight stay. 

Day 11: Arusha – USA

Before heading to the airport this afternoon, enjoy a few more hours of touring in Arusha. You can visit the Cultural Heritage Center & a local community project center, or spend the morning at your leisure. Upon arrival at the airport, board return flight home.
