Day 1: Johannesburg – Victoria Falls
In the morning, depart Johannesburg for Victoria Falls. Arrive at the airport & transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure. Relax or take a stroll through the local village.
Day 2: Victoria Falls
Following breakfast, you’ll begin your guided tour of Victoria Falls. Known to locals as Mosi-oa-tunya, “the smoke the thunders,” this natural wonder is admired for its beautiful and mystic quality. As you journey through the rainforest, you’ll be able to view the largest falling pane of water on earth. Other highlights of the day include Zimbabwe’s other natural flora and fauna as well as a visit to the statue of Dr. David Livingstone, the Scottish missionary and explorer who named the Falls for Queen Victoria. You can wind down from the busy day on a sunset cruise along the Zambezi River.
Day 3: Victoria Falls – Chobe
From Victoria Falls, you will travel through Zambia as you make your way to Chobe National Park in Botswana. A number of accommodation options are available while in Chobe; some just outside of Park boundaries and others on Chobe River’s banks. Your time in Chobe will be packed with wildlife encounters. You may see lions, hippopotamus, water buffalo and giraffes. But, you are certainly likely to spy elephants as Chobe is home to one of the largest concentration of elephants on the continent.
Day 4: Chobe
Today, you will continue to experience the sights and sounds of Chobe National Park. You may choose to take a 4x4 game drive to explore the park via land. However, you may choose to take to water as you cruise along the Chobe River. Watch as game of all sort come to drink and swim.
Day 5: Chobe – Okavango Delta
From Chobe, you will be take a flight to the heart of the Okavango Delta. The Delta is a unique wetland system made up of 16,000 sq. kilometers of crystal clear canals, lagoons and beautiful islands. This water wilderness is home to a tremendous number of birds and wildlife. You may choose from a range of accommodations and excursions during your time in the Delta.
Day 6: Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta offers you several options for exploration. You may want to see the Delta by Mokoro, a traditional dug-out canoe. You can also relax as you cruise the channels of the Delta by boat. Of course, there is always the option to sightsee by foot as you hike the area islands.
Day 7: Okavango Delta – Kasane – Victoria Falls – Johannesburg
Board return flight to Kasane. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport in Victoria Falls & board return flight to Johannesburg.
