This unfortunate reality brings the need for hope & assistance. Volunteers can make efforts to help residents of Colombo, the largest populated city in Sri Lanka, & other areas nearby through a variety of specialized projects. A life-changing opportunity awaits you, whether it’s participating in activities to boost women’s self-esteem, teaching English, or helping to preserve the natural beauty & wildlife of the country. Note: We have grouped available projects into a broad category based on the scope of their work. However, many of these programs overlap in their overall goals & objectives or go beyond the work listed here. The Turtle care, conservation & research project in Sri Lanka offers a special opportunity to support local efforts aimed at protecting the marine turtles. The program will include promoting necessary awareness campaigns through interaction with both tourists & local community members. Additionally, participants will assist local authorities guard over & protect particular beach areas that have been identified as turtle nesting grounds.
This fascinating trip will teach you more about key reformationists of the 16th century, including Calvin, Constance & Berne. We will focus on the contributions made by John Calvin as he moved through Switzerland & France. This program is only available for groups of 10 or more at this time.
Over the past 30 years, Taipei has transformed itself into a wonderful destination to visit, - filled with interesting architecture, scenic parks along the riverbank & beautiful cultural landmarks. If you're there for the Chinese New Year celebration, you'll get to see the Lantern Festival, which celebrates the first full moon of the new year.
This program is a great way to see some of Tanzania’s wonders, & help make a positive impact on one of the country’s local communities. Discover the world’s largest volcanic formation of its kind, the Ngorongoro Crater; swim with dolphins, watch the sun set on a dhow cruise, take a guided night hike on a Mt. Kilimanjaro hiking trail, & more. Volunteering activities include teaching English, organizing sports programs, & construction work.
In this program, open to both Biology & non-Biology majors, we’ll explore the country’s ecology & evolutionary patterns. This program gives medical & nursing students a unique perspective on healthcare, as they travel through Tanzania & interact with local staff at a variety of medical facilities. Work alongside local doctors at a hospital in Arusha, lead workshops on empowerment to encourage adolescent women of Arusha, & learn about other local efforts in the area that are reaching out to women, men & children in need. After the volunteer project, enjoy a few days in famous wildlife areas – participating in exciting safari game drives.
