Overview

This pilgrimage takes you to the site of the Marian apparitions of 1917. Feel inspired as you visit the Sanctuary in Fatima & the houses of the three children who witnessed these miraculous events. You’ll also discover several of Portugal’s historic sites, including the grand Jeronimos Monastery.

Itinerary

Day 1: Lisbon

Arrive at the airport, & transfer to the hotel.  After lunch, visit Belem Tower. Next you’ll discover the Jeronimos Monastery, a grand complex featuring multiple museums & the tomb of 16th-century explorer Vasco da Gama. Other highlights of the afternoon tour include Santo Antonio Church. 

Day 2: Lisbon – Fátima

This morning, take a stroll through the Chiado district to see its charming churches & local shops. Visit the Lisbon Cathedral, & admire its many styles of architecture. Enjoy lunch at a local café before heading to Fatima, where you’ll spend the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 3: Fátima

In the morning, visit Portugal’s most revered pilgrim site, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. You’ll see the monument that represents the location where the Marian apparitions took place in the year 1917. Afterward, you’ll visit the houses of the children who saw the miraculous events. 

Day 4: Fátima – Coimbra – Lisbon

Travel to Coimbra this morning. See where Sister Lucia, one of the witnesses of the 1917 Marian apparitions, spent her last days on Earth. You’ll attend Mass during your visit to the Carmelite Convent of Santa Teresa. Afterward, enjoy a guided tour of Coimbra’s Romanesque-style Old Cathedral & its 13th-century University. Return to Lisbon in the afternoon.
