Overview

Is your church ready for an incredible spiritual experience? Take your group on a walk through the book of good news as you visit the place of Jesus’ birth, the site of the miracle of the loaves and fishes, and the Sea of Galilee – amongst other significant sites. This 11-day tour is nothing less than inspiring. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to see these biblical & historic sites with your own eyes!

Itinerary

Day 1: Tel Aviv

Arrival at Tel Aviv airport. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 2: Jaffa, Caesarea, Megiddo, Sea of Galilee

Start the day in Jaffa, one of the oldest cities in the world. Here, you can walk through the House of Simon the Tanner. After, travel to Caesarea, the fortified harbor city that was built 2000 years ago by King Herod the Great. Caesarea is the place where Peter lead Cornelius the centurion to Christ (Acts 10:1). Drive to Mt. Carmel & visit Megiddo, the fortress city of King Solomon. The books of Daniel & Revelation will come to life as you study the final Battle of Armageddon & view the Plains of Jezreel. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 3: Caesarea Phillipi, Sea of Galilee

The day will start with a drive to Mt. of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. Drive along the Hula Valley to Tel Dan & on to Caesarea Phillipi, where Peter made his confession of faith in Jesus (Matthew 16: 13-23). Ride through the Golan to the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. See the ruins of Capernaun, the town where Jesus made his home after leaving Nazareth (Mark 2:1).  Visit the house of Peter (Matthew 8: 14-17). Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee & eat the traditional fish. On to Tabgha where the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves & fishes took place (Matthew 14: 16-20). Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 4: Galilee

After breakfast, drive to the city of Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle - changing water into wine (John 2: 1-11). Continue to Nazareth & visit the Church of the Annunciation, where the archangel Gabriel told Mary she was carrying the Son of God (Luke 1: 26). Drive through the Galileean hills to explore Tzippori (Sepphoris), the capital of Galilee in Herod’s time, then venture to Jezrael Valley where you will visit Mt. Tabor. End the day at Yardenit, the Baptismal Center site on the Jordan River. Overnight in Megido.

Day 5: Bet She’an, Jericho, Jerusalem

After breakfast, leave Tiberias & drive to Bet Alfa to see the ancient Synagogue. Continue to Jericho (political conditions permitting), the first city taken by Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt. It is also the site of the Mount of Temptation (Mark 1:13).  Drive on to Jerusalem, via Wady Kelt & stop for a look at valley of Armageddon  atop St. George Monestary. Finally, enter Jerusalem & watch the sunset from Mt. Scopus. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6: Jerusalem, Bethlehem

 Ascend the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Old City. Visit Dominos Flevit before descending to the Garden of Gethsemane. Next, stroll through the church of All the Nations & walk along the “Last Way” to Mt. Zion. Trek through the Kidron Valley & see the Tombs of Absalom, Zachary & James before visiting the Southen Wall. Visit the church of Peter in Gallicantu, where Peter denied the Lord 3 times (Matthew 26:31-34). After, visit the Last Supper Room on Mt. Zion (Matthew 26: 17-25) & King David’s Tomb. That afternoon you will drive to the city of Bethlehem & visit the Church of Nativity. (Luke 2:2-7). Overnight on Jerusalem.

Day 7: Jerusalem

Enjoy the day at your leisure!

Day 8: Qumran, Dead Sea, Masada

Leave Jerusalem & travel east to the shore of the Dead Sea. Visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Then, drive to Massada & ascend by cable car. While returning to Jerusalem, you will pass the traditional site of the Inn in the parable of the Good Samaritan. Visit Bethany, the city of Lazarus & Marta & spend overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 9: Jerusalem

After breakfast, drive to Mt. Moriah & visit the Western Wall. Walk up to the Temple place to see the Dome of the Rock & the Al-Aqza Mousqe. Walk to the Pool of Bethseda & St. Anne Church. Along the way, you will walk through the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre, then through the colorful Bazaar to Jaffa Gate. Proceed to the Holyland walk-around-model of the city as it appeared in the Second Temple period (the time of Jesus). Overnight on Jerusalem.

Day 10: Maresha

Leave Jerusalem & drive to Bet Guvrin to participate in an archeological dig in Tel Maresha. In the afternoon, go to the city of Bethlehem & visit the church of Nativity (Luke 2:2-7). Then, enjoy a trip to the Shepperd’s Fields. End your visit in Jersalem with a service at the Garden Tomb. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 11: Departure

Transfer from the hotel in Jerusalem to the Airport for departure.
