Overview

The King of Thailand has created a marine project at Kung Krabaen Bay, & you are invited to join the volunteer efforts! Educate the Thai people about the marine wildlife that calls the bay home, participate in conservation projects, survey the bay on a diving adventure, & participate in other exciting volunteer tasks. You’ll also enjoy guided tours in Bangkok!

  • Thai – Learn basic Thai during a language lesson in Bangkok.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bangkok

Arrive at the airport in Bangkok, & transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Enjoy dinner & an overnight stay in the capital. 

Day 2: Bangkok

After breakfast, visit Bangkok’s Chinatown, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, & the Temple of Dawn. Next you will enjoy a basic Thai language lesson. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure afterward.

Day 3: Bangkok – Chanthaburi

Travel to Chanthaburi today. After settling in upon arrival, head to Kung Krabaen Bay to learn more about the marine volunteer project. Afterward, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 4: Chanthaburi

Today you will begin your volunteer project. This aquatic project, created by the King of Thailand, includes several components. These include the study of marine wildlife, marine wildlife conservation, diving & sea surveying, IT tasks, marine awareness education, the sea-crab project, & tour guide tasks.  

Day 5: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 6: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 7: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 8: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 9: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 10: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 11: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 12: Chanthaburi

Spend the day volunteering. 

Day 13: Chanthaburi – Bangkok

Return to the capital city this morning. Upon arrival, check-in to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 14: Bangkok – USA

Transfer to the airport, & board return flight home. 

Sea Sanctuary Volunteer Project

This marine volunteer project includes several different components:
  • Sea Crab Project
  • Marine Awareness Education
  • Marine Wildlife Conservation
  • Diving & Sea Surveying
  • Marine Wildlife Study
  • Tour Guide Tasks
  • IT Tasks

Includes

  • International flights
  • Accommodation: Bangkok accommodation is tourist-class hotel or hostel on shared dormitory basis with breakfast. Single room with private facilities is available for those books for single supplement. Accommodation at the project is basic room, with own toilet & shower. In case the rooms of the centre are not available accommodation will be at one of the small beachside resorts near the center.
  • Meals: as specified in the program
  • Transport: Air-conditioned transfer in Bangkok /non-air-conditioned in remote areas

Excludes

  • Drinks & meals not mentioned in the itinerary
  • No meals are included during the volunteer period at the centre. There is local restaurant at the project where you can order a-la-carte dishes. All menu is mostly Thai food.
  • Travelling arrangements during your free time, weekends & holidays
