Day 1: USA – London
Leave the USA for London, England. Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Tomorrow holds the beginning of an amazing journey for you & your fellow performers!
Day 2: London – Salisbury – Llandrindod Wells
In the morning, head for the city of Salisbury to see its 13th-century Cathedral, home to an internationally famous choir. Inside this historic building you’ll find an original copy of the “Magna Carta” & a 14th-century clock that still has its tick. Other monumental highlights in the nearby area include the Stonehenge. Learn about the theories behind these massive stones that have sat in their original placements for thousands of years. Afterward, bid farewell to England for now, as you head into the charming country of Wales. Enjoy an overnight stay in the town of Llandrindod Wells.
Day 3: Llandrindod Wells
Take a stroll down the streets of Llandrindod Wells, & discover the architectural designs of England’s Victorian Era. Visit the nearby Elan Valley Estate for an opportunity to experience the area’s charming natural features. The estate offers several ways to explore its grounds, including foot tours & cycle tours. Afterward, head back into town for time of leisure before tonight’s choral performance at a local venue.
Day 4: Llandrindod Wells – Chester
On the way to Chester, England, enjoy a stop at the historic Erddig house. See how the notable Yorke family of Great Britain & their servants lived on this grand estate as you take a tour inside the home & through its accompanying 18th-century gardens. Upon arrival to Chester, check-in to the hotel, & prepare for tonight’s concert.
Day 5: Chester – Liverpool
Enjoy a day filled with fascinating sights & casual singing opportunities. Explore the stunning Chester Cathedral, which is comprised of multiple architectural styles, including Gothic & Norman. See other famous monuments as you discover medieval Chester by foot, walking the sightseeing path located on top of its ancient, fortress walls. Let your voice be heard, as your group will have the opportunity to practice for upcoming performances at one of Chester’s historic buildings. Next, head for the vibrant city of Liverpool. Highlights include The Beatles Story exhibition hall, the Maritime Mercantile City, & the Liverpool Cathedral, known in part for its grand organ, which features over 10,000 pipes. Enjoy another practice in Liverpool this afternoon.
Day 6: Liverpool – Holyhead – Dublin
Transfer to the town of Holyhead this morning to board a ferry for Ireland. After disembarking the ship, get ready for tonight’s performance in the city of Dublin.
Day 7: Dublin
Journey into the literary world today, as you explore Ireland’s capital city. Visit the famous Old Library at Trinity College, where one of the country’s most famous texts, the Book of Kells, is on permanent display. Visit The James Joyce Centre, & feel the spirit of one of Ireland’s most celebrated authors. Enjoy a late lunch in one of Dublin’s local pubs after a midday choral performance. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 8: Dublin – Glendalough – Enniscorthy
Discover the natural charm of the Wicklow Mountains today as you head for the town of Enniscorthy. Situated within this lush & rocky terrain is the Glendalough Visitor Centre. Here you will learn about the former monastery that was founded in the 6th century. After visiting the exhibition, you will have the opportunity to explore the remains of the site, which features an ancient cathedral, graveyard, & more. After dinner this evening, your choir will perform in Enniscorthy.
Day 9: Enniscorthy – Youghal – Dungarvan – Blarney – Killarney
Experience the essence of Irish history, culture, & tradition today on an adventure across South Ireland. First, head for the coastal town of Youghal, where serene waters & sandy shores meet centuries-old architecture & highlights in history. Enjoy a stop in Dungarvan before arriving in Blarney, home to one of the world’s most famous “lucky” monuments, the Blarney Stone. After reaching the top of the town’s medieval Castle, you can hang upside down to kiss the stone. Spend some time shopping for local handicrafts before getting on the road again. Today’s final destination is Killarney, a town graced with the beauty of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range.
Day 10: Killarney
One of the greatest scenic journeys in Ireland awaits you today. As you travel along the Ring of Kerry, you’ll find an array of eye-catching landscapes, including peaceful lakes, sandy beaches, & breathtaking coastline. Head through the Gap of Dunloe on a horse-drawn carriage, admiring the surrounding, rock-strewn mountains, & view the famous island Skellig Michael, where the remains of an ancient Irish monastery still reside. Other highlights along the 110-mile route include visits to several local villages. Before tonight’s performance in Killarney, sit back in a nearby pub, & enjoy the sounds of Celtic music over a cold pint.
Day 11: Killarney – Cliffs of Moher – Galway
Drive to the port in Tarbert, & board the ferry for Killimer to discover the beauties of County Clare. Travel across the Burren area, a vast plain consisting of lush green grass, limestone, & ancient relics. Visit the Cliffs of Moher, & observe the cool blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the edge of these steep, sandstone cliffs. Afterward, head off to see the famous sites of Galway. Highlights include the medieval St. Nicholas Church & Lynch’s Castle.
Day 12: Galway
Spend the day discovering more of lovely Galway, with a guided tour in the morning & time of leisure this afternoon. Tonight, perform live overseas one more time, as you take the stage in Galway.
Day 13: Galway – Dublin – USA
Head to the airport in Dublin to board your return flight home.
