Overview

There are so many ways to make an impact in the lives of the Nicaraguan people because the need is so great. Nicaragua is the poorest country in Central America & the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere; 30% of the population live below the poverty line.

Make meaningful connections within the community as your team serves alongside local missionaries in the Salinas Grandes area. Your mission team will be led by a local volunteer who will accompany the group to the project sites, providing instruction & translation if needed.

Teams can conduct projects focused on feeding & clothing, orphan care, arts & education, construction, sports & more. Team housing, transportation & meals will all be included.

Specialized Program: Education

Education is critical to helping Nicaraguans improve their financial situation, & literacy is a key component. Twenty percent of the Nicaraguan population is illiterate. But there is so much more your group can share. Technical skills are important for those in the work force & the arts can be taught to younger children who would probably never be exposed to those luxuries.

Specialized Program: Sports

Sixty percent of the Nicaraguan population is 14 years of age or younger. These children are in desperate need of strong role models. Sports is an excellent way to teach team work, leadership skills & to give the children confidence in themselves. Groups can choose from basketball to soccer, volleyball to baseball & everything in between.
