This three-night add-on tour takes you to several of the most famous sites within Kathmandu Valley. Learn about Nepalese history & culture while enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding Himalayas.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu

Arrive at the airport in Kathmandu, & transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 2: Kathmandu

In the morning, visit the famous Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex. Learn about the royal families who resided here for centuries, & hear the legend of the fifteen-language, engraved stone. Explore Patan Durbar Square, where you’ll discover Newa architecture, a design crafted by the Newa people. Patan square features temples & courtyards devoted to sacred deities of the Nepalese culture & more than 1,000 monuments. Next, visit Swayambhunath to see the ancient stupa, which features the all-seeing eyes of Buddha. Other highlights of today’s sightseeing tour include shopping in Thamel & a ride in a rickshaw. 

Day 3: Kathmandu

Visit the most revered Hindu temple complex in all of Nepal, Pashupatinath. Afterward, head to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is situated at more than 4,000 feet above sea level, & features King Bhupatindra Malla’s “55 Window Palace.” Today’s guided tour concludes with a visit to the world-renowned Boudhanath Stupa, regarded as one of the most sacred shrines amongst Tibetan Buddhists. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 4: Kathmandu – USA

Transfer to the airport, & board return flight home.
