On the Center’s campus is the Notre Dame du Lac Hotel & “Duc in Altum” Spirituality Center where pilgrims are able to rest & recharge while celebrating Jesus’s public ministry in the ancient city of Magdala. It is here that you can also explore the archaeological park where history comes to life through ruins & excavation sites, one of the most well-known being the 1st century synagogue believed to be destroyed during the Jewish revolt around 66 or 67 A.D. Beyond its historical significance, the Center boasts a number of projects such as the Magdalena Institute for Women, a tribute to the role of women in the gospel, a state-of-the-art multimedia center that presents Jesus’s life & a number of social, spiritual & cultural programs. The Center’s importance is even recognized by the Vatican as Pope Bendict XVI blessed it in 2009.
