Discover the wonders of Brazil on this thrilling 11-day adventure. First you’ll travel to the Brazil-Argentina border to see the incredible Iguazu Falls. Then it’s off to visit Rio de Janeiro, a lively city featuring mountains, sandy shores, & colonial architecture. On the last leg of the journey, you’ll explore the fascinating Amazonia region.

Itinerary

Day 1: USA

Board international flight.

Day 2: Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro – Iguazu

Fly to Iguazu, departing from either Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel, & enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 3: Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls, a natural wonder situated over the Brazil-Argentina border, is by far one of the most incredible sights on the globe. Discover the Brazilian side today. Journey to the base of the falls by elevator, & enjoy watching the water as it rushes down from high above. Afterward, admire the scenery on a hike across a thousand meter footbridge, or travel up to the famed “Floriano Falls” lookout via elevator. Later today, learn about the area’s native bird species during a visit to the Tropical Bird Park.

Day 4: Iguazu Falls

Discover the awe-inspiring views of Iguazu Falls from the Argentinian side. Feel the refreshing mist as you walk along the lower footbridge path. Afterward, enjoy the waterfalls from the higher route, which features different lookout points, leading to the “Gargantua del Diablo.” Out of all 275 cascades that make up Iguazu Falls, the Devil’s Throat, with an amazing drop of over eighty meters, is by far one of the most breathtaking.

Day 5: Iguazu Falls – Rio de Janeiro

In the morning, transfer to the airport, & fly to Rio de Janeiro. Enjoy traditional, Brazilian dishes at dinner this evening. 

Day 6: Rio de Janeiro

Hop inside a cable car for a journey up to Corcovado Mountain, home to the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue. When you reach the top of the mountain, you’ll enjoy awe-inspiring views of the city & Guanabara Bay. Afterward, take a stroll through one of the city’s markets. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, & feel the rhythm of Rio as you participate in a Brazilian dance class.  

Day 7: Rio de Janeiro

After breakfast, enjoy amazing views of the city from the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. Next, take a guided tour of downtown Rio. Sightseeing highlights include Candelaria Church, the Old Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, & the Municipal Theatre. 

Day 8: Rio de Janeiro – Manaus – Amazonia

Transfer to the airport, & board flight to Manaus. Travel to the Amazonian region by boat. Upon arrival at the hotel, enjoy dinner & a canoe adventure. 

Day 9: Amazonia

Enjoy a hike through the forest this morning. Your guide will teach you about the plants & wildlife native to the area along the way. In the afternoon, learn about the people native to the area, as you visit an indigenous community. 

Day 10: Amazonia

Spend the day on the Amazon River. Highlights include piranha fishing & the Meeting of Waters.

Day 11: Amazonia – Manaus – USA

Return to Manaus via boat. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport, & board return flight home. 

Optional Add-On: Experience Salvador

Feel the beat of Brazil’s largest city. This four day/ three night stay in Salvador invites you to discover its gorgeous beaches, delicious cuisine, energetic culture, & colonial history. Visit Salvador’s Historic Centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring colonial-style architecture. Spend a day, or two, with your feet in the sand on Porto da Barra beach. Other sightseeing highlights include Barra Lighthouse, All Saints Bay, & the 18th-century São Francisco Church, famous for its exquisite, golden décor.
