Overview

This seven day tour is a great opportunity to experience Chile's diverse culture. You'll visit the capital, Santiago; discover delicious, traditional cuisine, take a tour of one of the country’s most famous wineries, & visit charming “barrios,” or neighborhoods. Then you'll head to Easter Island to learn about the ancient Rapa Nui people.

Itinerary

Day 1: Santiago

Arrive at the airport in Santiago, & transfer to the hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Santiago

Discover the best of Santiago. Enjoy scenic views of the city from atop San Cristobal Hill. Visit the neoclassical style La Moneda Palace, the official chair of Chile’s President. Explore Bellavista, Santiago’s Bohemian quarter, which features the previous residence of world-renowned poet, Pablo Neruda. Other highlights include the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts.

Day 3: Santiago – Maipo Valley – Santiago

Travel to beautiful Maipo Valley to visit the famous Concha y Toro winery. Enjoy a tour of the vineyard & the Casillero del Diablo, the underground wine cellar. For curious taste buds, or the serious wine connoisseur, this award-winning, Chilean vineyard is a must visit. Afterward, return to Santiago for an overnight stay.   

Day 4: Santiago – Easter Island

Transfer to the airport in Santiago for your flight to Easter Island. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel, & spend the remainder of the day at leisure. 

Day 5: Easter Island

In the morning, enjoy stunning views of the island & the Pacific Ocean from the peak of Rano Kau. You’ll also admire the bold, earthy tones of this extinct volcano’s crater lake. Afterward, journey back in time to the age of the ancient Rapa Nui people. Learn about the traditions of the birdman ceremony at Orongo village, see the moai statues at Ahu Akivi, & explore Ana Te Pahu, a cave featuring fascinating geological formations, due to previous lava flow. Other highlights include the rock art of the cave Ana Kai Tangata & the Puna Pau quarry. 

Day 6: Easter Island

Discover artifacts situated on the southern coast of Easter Island today. See the platform at Ahu Akahanga, which is associated with the legend of King Hotu Matua’s grave. Visit the Rano Raraku quarry, which features the Tukuturi moai statue, & learn about Easter Island & the Navel of the World. Other Rapa Nui site highlights include the platform at Vaihu & the famous platform at Ahu Tongariki. Before dinner, enjoy time of leisure on Anakena Beach.

Day 7: Easter Island – Santiago – USA

Transfer to the airport, & return to Santiago by plane. From Santiago, board connecting flight home.
