Pack your best hiking shoes, & get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. As you trek through the Andes Mountains, you’ll cover close to twenty-seven miles of terrain, ascend to high altitudes, visit fascinating archaeological sites, & camp under the South American sky.

This 4-day/3-night tour is a great add-on to any South American adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Piscacucho – Inca Trail

Travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas this morning, heading for the start of the trail in Piscacucho. The portion of the trail you will hike today spans about seven miles & features a variety of terrain. The beauty of the Andes Mountains will take on a whole new appearance as you begin to ascend to high altitudes. Before reaching tonight’s camping location, you will have the opportunity to see the Inca ruin site of Llactapata. 

Day 2: Inca Trail

Continue to higher altitudes today, as you trek for close to seven more miles. Hike up the mountain pass Warmiwanusqua, also known as “Dead Woman’s Pass,” which reaches almost 14,000 feet. Tonight’s campsite will be in Pacaymayo Valley. 

Day 3: Inca Trail

Today you will trek for almost ten miles across the Trail of the Incas. Highlights include the Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, & Winay Wayna ruin sites. Enjoy one last night of camping this evening, as you rest up to finish the trail & explore the famous civilization of Machu Picchu tomorrow. 

Day 4: Inca Trail – Machu Picchu – Cusco

After trekking for a little more than two miles, you will reach the trail’s end. Next, enter the abandoned city of Machu Picchu. After your guided tour, return to Cusco.
