Itinerary

Day 1: Santiago

Discover the best of Santiago. Enjoy scenic views of the city from atop San Cristobal Hill. Visit the neoclassical style La Moneda Palace, the official chair of Chile’s President. Explore Bellavista, Santiago’s Bohemian quarter, which features the previous residence of world-renowned poet, Pablo Neruda. Other highlights include the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts.

Day 2: Santiago – Valparaiso – Vina del Mar – Santiago

In the morning, depart Santiago for Valparaiso, a coastal paradise filled with history, culture, & bright, colorful houses. Journey up to Cerro Alegre, conquering the steep hill to the top by foot or funicular ride. Enjoy scenic views of the city & the bay from this popular neighborhood before heading to Cerro Bellavista. Here you will see one of the city’s most unique features: the Open Sky Museum, a collection of murals situated throughout the neighborhood. Discover the beauty of the “Vineyard by the Sea,” Vina del Mar, before returning to Santiago for an overnight stay.  

Day 3: Santiago – Maipo Valley – Santiago

Travel to beautiful Maipo Valley to visit the famous Concha y Toro winery. Enjoy a tour of the vineyard & the Casillero del Diablo, the underground wine cellar. For curious taste buds, or the serious wine connoisseur, this award-winning, Chilean vineyard is a must visit. Afterward, return to Santiago for an overnight stay.   

Day 4: Santiago – San Pedro de Atacama

Experience the natural essence & beauty of Chile today. Depart Santiago for San Pedro de Atacama. See Cordillera de la Sal, the fascinating geological formation whose present state is the result of a million years in the making. Visit the Valley of the Moon, a colorful sand & stone landscape that spans across a portion of the Atacama Desert. See Las Tres Marias, peculiar-shaped formations found within the valley, consisting of salt & other natural materials. Afterward, head to the valley’s great dune, & discover the beauty of the desert at dusk. Enjoy an overnight stay in the town of San Pedro de Atacama.  

Day 5: San Pedro de Atacama – Toconao – Salar de Atacama – San Pedro de Atacama

Take a stroll through the quaint town of Toconao, whose streets are lined with houses made from volcanic rock. Next, travel to Salar de Atacama, & experience its many wonders into the night. This salt flat, one of Chile’s most mesmerizing sights, makes up a portion of Los Flamencos National Reserve. Enjoy observing the Andean flamingos & other wildlife in this serene stretch of nature. This evening, return to the hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.   

Day 6: San Pedro de Atacama – El Tatio – San Pedro de Atacama

Before sunrise, journey high up into the Andes to visit El Tatio, one of the world’s largest geyser fields. Observe numerous geysers, some of which eject steam up to almost twenty feet off the ground. Enjoy breakfast before a hiking adventure to discover the area’s fascinating flora & fauna. Return to the hotel, & enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.  

Day 7: San Pedro de Atacama – USA

Transfer to the airport, & board return flight home.
