Day 1: Ushuaia – Puerto Williams – Cape Horn
This afternoon, set sail from Ushuaia, Argentina, on a scenic voyage across the Beagle Channel. Arrive in Puerto Williams, the southernmost city in the world. Enjoy a walking tour of this unique, Chilean city before sailing to Cape Horn.
Day 2: Cape Horn – Drake Passage
Enjoy the view while sailing across the chilly waters of Nassau Bay, on the way to Cape Horn. Upon arrival, disembark for an exciting shore excursion on this almost desolate island (weather permitting). Afterward, the voyage continues, heading for Antarctica. The course to the earth’s coldest continent navigates through Drake Passage, named after the honorary British explorer, Sir Francis Drake.
Day 3: Drake Passage
Continue sailing through Drake Passage. Highlights at sea include a presentation & group discussion on the marine wildlife found in the area & bird & whale watching.
Day 4: South Shetland Islands
Discover a change in climate as you sail through the Antarctic Convergence, the gateway to the South Shetland Islands. Upon arrival to the area, enjoy observing penguins, various species of birds, & whales - all surrounded by beautiful icebergs. Disembark the ship for another land excursion to visit a colony of penguins. Enjoy today’s adventure into the evening, in the everlasting daylight that glows over Antarctica.
Day 5: King George Island – Punta Arenas
Arrive at the largest of the South Shetland Islands, King George Island. Disembark the ship at Fildes Bay, & experience walking on part of the world’s most extreme continent. Visit the area’s main sites, which include the Chilean & Russian bases. Afterward, board return flight to Punta Arenas.
Day 6: Punta Arenas - USA
Transfer to the airport, & begin the journey home.
