About the Area

Cancun is the gateway to the northeastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, a beautiful area that's rich in history. Visitors can choose from stunning Caribbean beaches & sumptuous food to well-preserved historical sites & adventurous excursions – all while enjoying the area’s luxurious accommodations. Plus, the sun shines an average of 250 days/year & the tropical climate means it's typically warm. Most of the rain falls during the wet season, from May to October.

Looking for unique & memorable activities to add some spice to your itinerary? The Riviera Maya is home to a wide variety of theme parks, focused on ecotourism, water fun, adventure, Mexican culture & more.

The area is also famous for its cenotes & unparalleled underwater cave system - which offer amazing snorkeling & diving opportunities. While technical diving experience is required to dive the cave system in full, recreational divers have plenty of cavern, drift & wreck dives to choose from.

With all that to offer, there's no wonder why it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations!

A Couple Tips

Don’t get help from the guys inside the airport. Just smile & keep walking. Your shuttle or hotel representative will be waiting for you right outside the airport.

Cancun is a safe vacation destination if you travel smart. Just like you would in a large U.S. city, be aware of your surroundings & keep to well-lit, populated streets. Don’t flash money or expensive jewelry & don’t take unneeded risks.
